Lost pets

It was the old house kinda, at night, we got home and there was a ton of dogs and kittens in the backyard. I tried to cradle them and pet them, trying to figure out what to do. We realized that it was a ton of lost animals that somehow ended up stuck there in our backyard. There was a tiny pink striped kitten which was my favorite, and a dog that smiled. Eventually we had to escape for some reason so we left the older cats at the house to survive on their own and we took the kittens with us. I was running, escaping, into a place with a pool surrounded by miles of forest. I was with a friend, and for some reason we had to cover the pool in kerosene and light it on fire. Apparently the fire and the chlorine reacted to start the entire forest on fire. We were apparently about to commit suicide but at the last possible moment I grabbed her hand and we decided we still wanted to live so we tried to run down the path out of the forest. She turned around and just stared into the approaching fire while I kept running. Eventually I escaped, but I ended up in an intersection between different time zones.
