This takes place in Reno Nevada. It’s a first person POV. In this dream I was in college and I’d just started summer vacation, so I was back home in Reno. There’s a real road in Reno called windy hill that has a very scenic view of the city. In my dream instead of a road it was a park with a ski lift type thing above that takes you across the entire park. I was on said lift in the dream. It was idyllic; everything was incredibly green and saturated, there were families in the park having a great time, hot air balloons flying by, etc. I had pulled out my phone and was taking photos and videos for my boyfriend because I wanted him to see what my hometown looked like and to see how gorgeous it is. I panned up to the sky and took a video of a helicopter, but it was moving back and forth quickly, like a boomerang on Instagram. Not how a real helicopter would move. Then I rounded a corner and insanely enough off in the distance was an ocean. There was a pod of dolphins that were moving back and forth in a similar manner to the helicopter. The vibe became eerily quiet and it felt like something was wrong. Then, the city and sky itself seemed to shake for a few seconds. Kids started crying but otherwise it was still so quiet. Birds hadn’t been chirping the entire time. I texted my boyfriend “a storm is really doing a number on the barrier right now, I’m a little worried. It’s glitchy as hell”. I looked back at the sky and ocean, and by looking closer it was clear that it was fake. A gigantic protective dome over the town that used screens to project a healthy blue sky and an ocean with dolphins just for fun. Looking at a few cracks between screens revealed an angry red sky. The dream then cut to my point of view to a wide shot outside this barrier. It looked like the surface of mars. The sky was a deep red, almost purple. Screaming winds blew walls of dust sideways. There was the city, underneath a circular barrier. Aside from that there was nothing. Tahoe was about halfway empty and a sickening yellow. Then I woke up.
