Dangerous Tourism

I went to a small beach in Pernambuco, the place had lots of decorations, colorful little flags, stones sculpted in triangle shapes, kiosks serving stuff and even a abandoned school bus. The fact that I knew I was far from home made me want to enjoy as much as possible. I wanted to swim so I made my way through that friendly people and headed towards the water, even though I heard voices saying it's too dangerous. The sea had tones of green and blue, it was really calm, subtle waves, yet not very inviting, looked beautiful but indeed treacherous. Barely got in the water and I could already feel it's strength. I motivated some people to swim too. Not far from the sand and it was deep, couldn't feel the ground anymore. I began swimming in circles and at impressive speed, caught everyone's attention. I felt real good about that and decided to have a drink, a whiskey. I had to swim back to the beach but the currents were pulling so much. The sea dragged me to the left, where I was out of sight, behind a huge stone. I tried to hold the stone's grass but it had so many spiders, I looked around and a whirlpool was forming, realized it was the end for me.
