I faintly remember that the beginning of my dream started off sweet enough but it completely developed into a nightmare. It began with me as a child simply "investigating" makeshift cases. One of them turned out to be real as I was looking into the coincidental death of my dog. I called the police about it and one of the policemen made an add comment about the death, saying it was poisoning and that he knew as he was also a veterinarian. As the dream progressed more animals died as well as humans (?). I connected the clues that were left behind and it turned out to be the policeman. He was caught but he escaped and tortured me. Afterwards I "woke up" in the dream to discover I had an investigator app installed that would make me relive the case but it would get progressively darker and more violent. The policeman began to butcher people and abuse me and I took matters into my own hands by running in front of a bus after screaming for help down a street and the bus driver took me away. I called the police but the number kept changing and when I was finally able to successfully call them they doubted my word and my evidence. The perpetrator butchered them and then reverted to abusing me and the app began to make me relive the ending until I got it "right". No matter what I did the policeman did something that would make my nightmare worse and involve him escaping from his sentence/capture and hurting my loved ones in the process. In a few cases I even resorted to killing him myself and even beheading him but it only seemed to make things worse. In the end I only "won" that level by enlisting the help of enraged ghost victims from previous plays (which were terrifying enough in their own right) that ripped him apart. after I won I woke up from the app again and started a new level which involved a Louisiana like setting. at this point I regained some control and lucidity and I tried to delete the app (as I knew what I would bring) but it just made me have flashbacks of my previous escapades and would not entirely uninstall. I woke up.
