the USA was deeply dystopian. i had been reading the middle of 1984, which probably was why it felt so strangely real. there were parking garages where people were living, abandoned for some reason by most cars, and they were more like the places for the homeless to take shelter and form a community. my family went out to a store as a treat and it felt like a pawn shop (i almost spelled that as shawp lmao. wait "pawn shawp" is cute hahaha) or a thrift store, but it was a market place thrown together by the poor community. a woman came by and wanted to buy a very old desktop computer we brought to the place for $400. i felt rich. i told my family, if we can get that much money from 1 old desktop monitor (it wasn't even the pc... just the monitor. slightly yellowed beige color, as if from the 80s or 90s), then imagine how much we could get selling all the junk we have from everyone that's died in our family (in real life we have a lot of our dead relatives stuff for some reason... and it is stressful af to sort through bc it's simply too much. imagine the lives of like 4 people being in one garage ugh lmao). And my step-mom was like omg you're right, we could make bank. Obviously in real life we are keeping any sentimental items but we definitely need to sell a lot of it. Trump was in this dream and he was basically like a Big Brother figure as you might see during a hate week in 1984. The parking garages were my favorite part because although it felt scary in this world it also felt safe because we were scrappy and knew how to survive. It reminded me of the 3008 Ikea game on Roblox which I don't play anymore because no save state and that kinda put me off from it, that and also how other players became more saboteuring than before. It is one of the most fun games ever if not for those 2 things...
