Alive Video Game Stage

Me and my friends were video game characters and we were trying to enter a new stage. The stage though didn't let some of my crew enter from the beginning, while others got kicked out almost immediately after entering. The stage at first was a beautiful endless valley, but it pretty soon turned out to a huge maze and kept lagging constantly. For some reason me and one of my friends were shifting through landscapes. Well apparently the stage was reprogramming itsself and letting only a few players to beat it, while it banned players, who it didn't like. Me and my friend managed to get into a different veil, while the stage alone was unlocking the doors, which we were allowed to pass through.
