Lucky is Hit by a Car

My cat somehow got out of the house. I went to look for him and found him lying alongside a curb, alive, but badly hurt. I picked him up and cradled him in my arms. His back legs were all messed up and I knew he probably had internal bleeding as well. Nearby, a couple was getting into their car. I threw open the backdoor and jumped in still holding my cat. I told them to drive to the emergency vet as fast as they could. Unfortunately, my cat did not survive and I woke up feeling very upset.
