Confusing airport

I was lost in a massive airport combined with a mall at Christmas time with show choir (we waited in line to see santa) and I asked an employee for help. I apperantly counted as an unaccompanied minor, and I said "I'm 18." He said "I know" and I said "I'm a legal adult and I cant fly alone?" And he yelled at me for questioning him
