Beating a mouse that turned into a kitten

I had this dream about a week ago. I was beating a mouse in the corner of the room. I was trying to beat it to death. Before I knew it, the mouse turned into a kitten. I didn’t realize it in time though, so I accidentally hit the kitten a few times thinking it was the mouse, and it was pretty injured. I felt really bad. Meaning: Perhaps a problem (mouse) will turn less problematic (kitten). Perhaps I won’t realize it’s getting better and ruin it without meaning to; like my current situation at work. Ah idk
