I go crazy & escape to a giants village

In the beginning of a dream I am scared of something and I tell my friend Sam before I go to bed. He shows up about 10 minutes later and cuddles into bed with me. This is uncharacteristic of Sam yet I am very happy and at peace. Sam leans in to kiss me and we kiss gently, for some reason I know this is Sam's first kiss. We kiss more and I fall to sleep in my dream. I wake up in a city that looks like a medieval movie set. It seems to be the afternoon. As I look from person to person I notice when I revisit someone's face I have already looked at, they have changed. Scared, I run on cobblestone streets to try and escape into a tavern hoping to find some clarity. Instead I am called over by name, "Alyvia", by a young man I do not recognize. I walk over and once I am close enough the man grabs my face and kisses me. Startled, I pull away and look at him again, he is now my high school friend Kyle who is looking at me like he's just discovered something horrific. I realize the face before was his older brother whom I've met once or twice when I was 10. I tell him I don't know who he is, that I'm confused, and I run out of the tavern full speed. Kyle chases after me but only to the door and I hear a conversation. An onlooker asks what my problem is and Kyle reveals that he can read minds, that I saw him as someone else. I head for the city limits, seeing a lake in the distance and hoping I can get away from there. As I approach the brush surrounding the lake I notice another young woman running parallel and trying to get to the lake as well. I don't know why only one of us can make it but I know I need to beat her. Speeding up we burst through the brush together. The first thing we see is a giant woman loading another the body giant woman onto what looks to be a large boat ramp into the lake. She releases a lever, dumping the body into the lake. She seems to be attached to a rope that is strung across the entire lake. The rope is moving, pulling her body toward the center of the lake where there is an ambiguous golden glowing light source. Then the giant lady spots us. Snatching us from the ground without a word. We shout to no avail and are taken to a large building that is built somewhat into the lake. We are told that we are prisoners, belongings of the giants. That we mustn't flee and we mustn't try to swim in the lake. A demonstration is given. We stand on an observation platform inside the building with the open water mere feet from us. Chunks of mysterious meat are tossed into the lake and soon flesh eating fish begin a frenzy. I notice that their mouth is the entirety of their abdominal and their teeth line the entire length as well. A male prisoner next to us digs his nails into his wrist, probably from fright. The fish can smell it and attempt to jump onto the platform. A few succeed and one latches onto the man, he is quickly dragged into the water and no one lifts a finger to save him. Myself and the other female prisoners frantically kick at the other fish and force them back to the water. The giant chief explains one bite can be enough to take you under. That they are extremely lethal. We are dismissed, and taken back to the body ramp by the woman giant who caught us. She debates which of us to kill, asserting the other woman is stronger and healthier but that I am more creative and obedient. The other woman is unshackled to be killed but escapes. Meanwhile I plan my escape. I plan to rig the rope, pulling it taught and out of the water so I can run across to the other side and cut the rope. I also have a burning desire to discover what the golden light in the center of the lake is and this will help be accomplish both. My dream ends before I escape.
