Furnace room trap

I found out about a house where the person I was looking for was and went. A key had been sent to us I think. (I think I was a detective.). I looked through the peephole in the door and could only see a sort of fiery glow. I used the key and walked through the door, only to have it immediately slam behind me as I noticed that I was in a small, very padded room with a furnace door at the end. That was the glow. I turned around and tried to open the door, but it was as solid as a bank safe. I was scared and looked around the small room, and only discovered three or four dead cell phones on the padded floor next to the door. I didn't have my cell phone with me and no one knew where I was and it was starting to get very hot in the room.
