Crunch league match in the SPFL and it was a game Celtic must win (I don't know the exact reason but my guess it was League business and every home game is a must win for Celtic in the League. Especially against teams like St Johnstone). Celtic Park looked old, like the days before it was modernised in the 90s. Celtic have two Rooneys in the line up, me and my dad! I can't remember who the rest of the team was but I believe it was all players from the past like Harry Hood and Dixie Deans. We are pounding the St Johnstone goal but just can't put the ball in the net. The pressure is building and time is running out. I actually felt the anxiety in the dream knowing that to drop points in this game would be unthinkable. In the 81st/82nd minute Celtic get a freekick on the very edge of the box. A shout for a penalty kick is made but the appeals are ignored, it's a free kick. Both me and my dad want to take it but I get to the ball first and stake my claim. I place the ball just outside the box to the right of the goal (as you face it) shooting into the old traditional "away" end. I take my time as I know this is probably the best chance of a goal and we can't blow it, I can't blow it. I remonstrate towards the referee making sure the defensive wall is the full distance. I remember saying to him "Ref. Ah'm no' taking this fucking free-kick till those bastards are the full 10 yards back". The wall jockeys about and tries to steal some yards back but I notice a space in the wall to the left as I face it. I strike the ball with my left peg (I am right footed) and the ball flies through the gap. It then takes a heavy deflection off a defender behind the wall (who was black I seem to remember). The next thing I see is the ball flying past the despairing dive of the St Johnstone keeper. I don't even wait for the ball to hit the net or a cheer from the crowd, I know it's a goal. I turn towards my team mates and run in celebration. The sense of relief I feel is palpable. I feel it from my team mates and the crowd. I knew that we would now win the game so I could relax.
