Aliens looking for parasitic aliens

In this dream I was in charge of a team of human looking aliens that came to earth because someone from our race was visiting earth and accidentally released a parasitic greenish yellow star shaped alien who hasn’t learned how to infect live humans yet. The dream starts with us landing our ship in a field and immediately when we land we are attacked by an animal that has been infected by the mother parasite. It jumps around and my team and I have to coordinate to avoid it escaping or injuring us and potentially infecting us. We immediately cut it down and burn it and then move on to find traces of the next alien. We have landed in the country but signs of the parasite lead it to a bit city. On the trek, we camouflage our suits to look like normal earth clothing as we carry around concealed blades and gloves. During our hunt, before we go to the city we found one of our fellow aliens who has been infected since they had recently been infected so he’s dead now. The battle is long since they had combat prowess but we were able to cut it down a small piece of the parasite manages to escape and we know it’s going to try to meet up with the mother parasite and collect the remaining parasites. I lead the team to a party at this big mansion and we go around trying to find the parasite but it becomes really hard to kill it without the humans knowing since the party has just started. We quickly found a darkish place where people are smoking and just high and begin killing the parasite. I catch some of the last remnants with my gloves hands and burn them. We eventually leave after killing the smaller pieces of the parasite and my dream ends. But the fear after I leave is that we didn’t find all traces because Human anatomy is similar to ours and we are more advance technologically and weren’t able to save most of our population when the parasite first infected our people. However, the order was to kill the mother parasite and any traces we come across as soon as possible because it is very rare that the child parasites survive without the mother. So we fly back home after checks on the ship.
