I was at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during a truly disturbing time of crisis. There was a terrible plague going around, and it was sourced as a magical plague with no known cure. As time passed, dark forces began to take hold of Hogwarts control, as the wizards of the light began to die. When Harry Potter began making big changes in the world, the dark wizards and witches would send some of their workers to search after him. If they disobeyed due to weakness from the plague, the dark wizard or witch would stab one of their limbs or partially dismember them to inspire them with fear and force them to go. One night at the castle, I was seeing through Harry’s eyes as he was wandering the halls with the cloak of invisibility. He was searching for the room of requirement, but suddenly realized Professor Snape was walking at a rather swift stride down the same corridor. Harry increased his speed, but then so did Snape. Quickly I realized that Snape was not able to physically see Harry, but could smell his scent, and was following him based on that. Eventually, Snape caught up to him. Harry decided he would make a bold move to try to evade Snape. He moved to the side of the corridor slowly, but Snape smelled him and moved his head and nose to follow the scent. Then just as Snape was about to reach him, Harry “floated” over Snape, a new escape spell he’d just learned, and moved a few meters down the corridor. Snape started sniffing back down the corridor, and once Harry finally escaped from the hallway, he could hear Snape cry out in anger that he had lost his scent. Angrily, Snape travelled down the dungeons to the dark wizards and witches to retrieve something that could track Harry by scent. He tried many dogs, and many beasts, but nothing was working. Snape did not tolerate further failure, and slayed every person and creature that failed him. Eventually, he tried to have two werewolf children, a boy and a girl, pick up Harry’s scent. When they refused, Snape slashed across the boy’s face, knocking him down. The girl was frightened, and told Snape that they would be able to track him, shaking the boy’s shoulders to get him to stand up, but he was dead. It appeared that they were mentally linked by some sort of magic, and she died suddenly as well. Snape screamed out in anger again, as he had failed. Several months pass, and Snape and the dark wizards and witches died from the plague. Harry Potter and the wizards and witches of light return to their normal lives, but everyone still keeps their conscious lifestyle to prevent spreading the plague, such as no physical contact, only verbal greetings and waving. It was a dark time at Hogwarts, and dark times called for dark measures.
