I can only remember bits and pieces of this one. I just had surgery so I was a bit drugged before I went to sleep. I'll type what I do remember though. ------------------------------------ "Kiol, wake up. Hurry!" a woman was saying frantically as she shook me. When I opened my eyes there was no one there. Instead I noticed I was sitting in the break room at my work. My friend, and coworker, David was sitting across from me. He and our friend James were talking comics. My music had stopped on my phone so I took out the headphones. I felt sick and groggy. "You okay?" they asked me. I shook my head but got to my feet. I staggered back against the wall as my friend Jacob came over and helped me up. "You should stop pushing yourself." He told me then looked to the others, "I'll get her to manager. They should send her home like this." Jacob walked me down the hall to the manager's office. I felt dizzy and was basically having to lean on him the whole time. "I can't go home. Not like this." I whispered as my eyes felt heavy now. "Kiol hurry!" I heard that woman shout only to realize I wasn't at work anymore. I was in a hospital bed with tubes and cords attached to me. I could faintly hear voices outside my room and could see Jacob there with me. He was in a chair by my bed, completely out cold. I reached for his hand to wake him but he was no longer there. A young woman was. I had never met her before but I knew she was the one who kept shouting at me to wake up. Calling me the name that wasn't mine. She grabbed my hand in hers. "Kiol...please wake up...don't leave me here..." She said quietly now. She looked as if she'd been crying. I don't remember falling asleep again. Next thing I know I'm waking in my bed to see my room isn't my room. I see a little boy of about 5-6 years laying next to me. Dark almost black hair but real short. He was curled against me so I couldn't see his face but I knew him to be my son. "Benji?" I asked him, "Did you have a nightmare?" He shook his head and looked up at me, beautiful hazel eyes now saddened, "You did. You were crying." "I'm sorry sweetie." I whispered and hugged him. "Mama...I can't stay. But...please be happy." Benji told me sadly. I kissed the top of his head. "Mama's trying sweetie." I awoke once again but this time I was in a hospital waiting room. My work friend David was sitting across from me, very anxious. Next to me was my friend Jacob. We were all waiting on David's fiancee but I had no knowledge of why she was there. "Kiol...come back..." I heard from behind me. I felt my heart rate pick up as I glanced behind me. That woman was sitting behind me, eyes now bloodshot and hair in complete disarray. I grabbed Jacob's hand without thought. Anything to keep me grounded in the present moment. 'I am not Kiol!' I shouted in my mind. I prayed this ghostly woman would hear it. 'I am not Kiol!' Jacob squeezed my hand lightly, ignorant to the battle I was waging. I now was in a dark room. My body felt heavy and numb all at the same time. I couldn't hear anyone or anything. I blinked a few times but I could only see darkness. I fought against the numbness and pushed to get to my feet...but I couldn't move. "Mama...wake up now." I could hear Benji crying to me. "You have to wake up Mama! This isn't your dream!" His words sent chills through me as I fought even more to move or something so I could kick start my brain and jolt myself awake. "MAMA HURRY!!!" Benji shrieked. I awoke in my room. Cold sweat upon my body. I curled into myself as Benji sat behind me. "Mama...I'm sorry. I tried to stop the bad lady...but she got you first. I'm sorry Mama." Benji told me sadly. "You saved Mama, thank you Benji." I told him as he hugged me. I placed a hand over his tiny ones and felt myself calm down. That's when I finally awoke from it all.
