Saying Goodbye

It's set in the future and I am watching the scene like its on TV. A planet is dying and they are evacuating it, on the planet live two different humanoid peoples. I am watching a couple as they are arguing over whether or not the woman is going to leave the planet. The man is an immortal but as such his race are unable to physically leave the planet, the woman is mortal and can leave the planet but she doesn't want to leave without him. He is trying to argue that once the planet dies his people will be free to leave it but she is convinced they will die with the planet and she doesnt want to live without him. They argue and in the end he shoves her into the last evacuation pod just before the doors seal shut. She watches from her pod screaming and crying and cursing him as she watches the planet implode. I wake up not knowing if he survived.
