Stolen Gerbils

My Gerbil cage was broken so we took it back to the shop. For some reason, the Gerbils were still in the cage and I knew about it. The person at the till took the cage with the Gerbils inside and said nothing. We then left (I dont know why) and broke into the shop later that night to try and get the Gerbils back but we couldn't find them.
