The inside and the out

I'm with a version of me on a track of concrete high above buildings at the shore. They're curved and set up with different rooms. Some architectural elements have gravel embedded in to give texture and some are explained to me as why they're part of our experience. A little tour tells me why these are necessary. I have to buy enough elements of the outside. We find ourselves by my old elementary school. The two people I'm with, my little sister and a curly haired boy, go ahead out of the cover of the low hanging tree where I remain, to get the attention of someone in the window. I keep hidden. She lets us in and I dip past her line of sight. I go inside to my parents' room in Jersey. When she opens up the door, I chose a closet with my sister where there are natural wood pencils in a bucket that feel so smooth to the touch.
