In my dream, I was visiting Helen in the old neighborhood in the Bronx. She had a very large cactus plant in the front of her house, deeply rooted in soil. The set-up of her front yard was slightly different in my dream. In my dream, she had about 2 1/2 feet of dirt above ground, surrounded by a smaller brick wall, outside her house, to one side. I was curious as to what the roots looked like, so I carefully lifted the cactus plant. It was a very large cactus plant, and I had to use both hands and some of my might to in order to uproot it. Suddenly, it became easier after I heard and felt I had disconnected it. I suddenly felt really bad, as if I had just killed her plant. I did lift it up from the dirt and saw that even the roots had spikes on it. I tried the best that I could to put the plant back, and covered it with dirt again. I was too ashamed to tell my friend what I had done. I hoped that everything would be back to normal and the plant would continue to live and thrive. However, after I had uprooted this cactus, I noticed several dozens, or perhaps even hundreds of ants were fleeing from the dirt area. I had also noticed a small black and the gray mouse that was on one of my friend’s steps, likely escaping the chaos I caused in his little world. My friend already had problems with mice in her house, so I was trying to gently veer this mouse toward the street. The mouse already looked cold and wet and weak. I gently nudged the mouse in the direction of the street with my foot. However, the mouse, already being weak, could not take my gentle nudge. It fell down to the next step, which I guess was quite a fall for the little creature. I think between being uprooted and the shock of my nudge, I may have injured it some more. I certainly did not want to kill the little creature. I was already feeling guilty about killing the cactus, and now this happened. Dream ends.
