The time travel book

There was this person who had a book with the writing of many famous people from around the world from all different time periods. He got into many adventures to get the book signed by many famous people but when the journey was over he didn't want to sell the book because it had too much sentimental value to him because his wife had written on the book, and she was dead. So he stalled as much as he could to keep from selling it and in the end he kept it.
