Weather: Unknown, assumed cold. Mood: Confident, stressed, sad, others not remembered Changes throughout Setting: On an old timey ship (HMS Erebus/Terror like). Some other guy (who is not from that ships crew, unknown how/why he got on it) and the ships captain are supposed to duel to death. Captain making preparations (loading gun ((the gun uses some kind of red powder thing you’d put into a compartment in it)) etc), hes feeling very cocky and confident about winning. The ships layout and the mood changes here. The “other guy” is now Dr. Mundo. The captain isn’t cocky/confident anymore. Two sides with wooden table booths in a row back to back (think like how a school bus is), aisle down middle. Captain sitting at the first booth on the left doing something with the gun and then filling the compartment with the red powder up half? way. Captain planning to throw the duel, wants to make a letter for only Mundo to read. Struggles to find paper and then something to write with. Dosent want any of the crew to see what he writes (it’ll give up his plan) and moves away from where they are (to the back of the room/ship. The higher ranks or maybe closer friends ((or both)) follow). Looking frantically for a pencil, time is runnning out (before duel starts) and he wants to finish the note. Starts yelling about wanting to write the note/that he needs a pencil. His/a steward (Jopson from The Terror) points out a pencil holder cup on a desk in the very back of the room. Captain grabs it and writes the letter quickly. The letter: When you win please don’t kill them all, Some of these men are beautiful souls. He then folded the paper up, wrote To Dr. Mundo on the front and handed it to Jopson and said something about “don’t you ever read it” Then as he was walking to the front....
