The night before Father's Day

My mother has an elderly father who is 83, and she has been taking care of him for years. In my dream she decided it was time to stop. She wanted to take him to the hospital to have him euthanized. I was shocked and appalled, but oddly for some reason I didn't want to discourage her. I guess neither of us wanted to watch him get into even worse shape than he already was. My mom said to him, "let's go for a ride", and he got up and got in the car willingly. It felt so wrong, but selfishly I didn't want my mom to have to take care of him any longer. I even said on the way out that we might as well take the dog and have him euthanized as well.
