On the way to a performance

We were on our way (A and I) to a performance at the university theater and my mother didn't understand that we already had the tickets and was arguing with me about it. It was raining outside and I tried to put a shower cap on instead of using an umbrella! I saw my cousin, Tom wearing nursing scrubs (he's actually an IT person) walking with a woman in nursing scrubs and it was clear to me that they were dating. We just said hi to each other and walked on.
