I was convinced I had to help a friend steal from a law firm. He convinced me we would never get caught, and we were only going to steal some papers. There were about six of us, all wearing suits. We went up an escalator in a mall to the offices. We got in easily. The office was ultra modern, halls lined floor to ceiling with video screens. The office we entered was grimy, with a bathtub full of junk. The office plants were well watered. Almost immediately security opened the door. We were told that we would be let go with a warning, but the ringleader would be electrocuted. I asked if he was sure that’s what he meant. A young woman pretended to be part of our gang, and slipped me a pamphlet for counterfeit perfumes. I yelled at her that this was not the appropriate time. The security guard led us out, and kept saying that my friend would be electrocuted. I finally got him to admit he didn’t know what the word meant. He meant to say “persecuted.”
