Yellow Hummingbird

I’m walking up a winding staircase made of white painted brick, such as those in apartment buildings. After a few flights of stairs, I come across a couple people talking and pointing towards the top of the stairwell. I look up to see a cardinal, trapped and fluttering around the ceiling trying to escape. I lift the back of my hand up, calling it to me. I see a yellow patch on the top of my hand, and as the cardinal comes to land on my hand by the yellow spot, I realize the bird is now a small yellow hummingbird. I walk down the stairs with it on my hand, in an attempt to take it outside to free it. I try to take a hold of the bird, holding it gently in my hands, but everytime I do... I struggle to keep it and it breaks loose and flies around until I lift the back of my hand with the yellow spot and call it back. We do this a few times, I try to grasp it, it breaks free, I call it back, it rests on my hand. Finally I step outside and free the bird. It immediately takes flight, flying higher and higher by the second. As it does so, I notice how it’s wings expand larger and larger, like mechanical wings unfolding and expanding their reach, until its wingspan expanded to about that of a semitruck, its feathers now as white as snow. I then notice leaves begin falling from the bird, as if they were its feathers. I take notice and comment to a man nearby how each leave that falls is a different species of tree, some oak, some maple, etc.. A variety of leaves falling as the strange bird continues to flg higher... End dream... Thoughts: -Don’t try too hard to hold on to what is suppose to be, if it is suppose to be, it will be. Sometimes when you try to hold on to something that is meant to be held with an open hand, you will lose it. -I had something the people didn’t, a yellow spot that attracted the bird, caused it to stay with me, and changed it. -The cardinal reminds me of my mom. -The small bird transforming into something huge is a reminder not to despise small things, because one day they can become something huge. -I’m not yet sure about the different transformations of the bird.
