Irl I bought this handmade quilt from a yard sale which seemed a good idea at the time, at least until I got it home and realized it was musty smelling. Then I tried to wash it and it’s so heavy it going to ruin my motor in time; whomever made it was not conscious of this fact. Instead it was all about the frills. The back is satin pink and the flip side has quilt patches, also pink, but also hot pink with lots of lace. It looked nice when I bought it and I thought my daughter would feel like a princess sleeping with it. She loved it and she has resisted all my attempts to rid of it including pulling it out of the donation bin. Believe me I’ve tried. Well. she likes it but it keeps ending up in the laundry and it’s hard to wash, smells musty no matter what detergent I use. And when it’s not in the laundry, it’s on the floor because the satin is slippery and so it slides right off the bed every time. The dream now: This blanket was packed away in the garage, where it needed to be. As I was walking down the street, I saw a man sleeping in his car and he was draped with this one of a kind handmade pink/hot pink blanket. Without a doubt, it was stolen from our home. I thought how funny it was the man draped in a frilly pink blanket. He didn’t care and actually looked satisfied. I forgot to mention that blanket could keep anyone warm during an arctic winter. So he was comfy in his car. A cop was nearby and for some reason I was trying to give him $10, but in ones. The officer was patient but my hands were clumsy and I apologized my wad of cash was so messy. I then told him the guy had stolen my blanket and I expressed that I wondered if I would be doing him a favor by reporting him so he could get some help with his heroin addiction. The officer agreed. I told him I didn’t want the blanket back because it was hideous. I was glad it was finally gone. I told someone else that I had reported the guy and they thought it was wrong I had done that. I then began justifying my actions saying he had stolen it out of my garage and he could have taken much more I wasn’t even aware of. I was shunned for my actions. Irl this morning, my daughter is sick in bed and right next to her draped from the top bunk to the bottom is the satin pink blanket.
