A friend/family/ school cruise trip

So I'm not sure where it sparked but my family and I had gone to the port where we were going to board the ship. As soon as we got on I had already ran into someone I knew and thought maybe it was merely a coincidence. Continued to explore the ship (a royal Caribbean boat) a bit more and I thought I had seen someone else I knew/was keen on. And turns out it was and she was there with her family too. Now I had gone back to the room I was assigned with my sibling and had noticed this checklist from a school. This school is one that is near where I live as well, and I realized that the school for some reason put me in charge of the students on this trip. Note my family and both friends family and students from a school are on a trip together. Not only the same floor we were all on but all right next to each other as well.
