a figure (please help?)

last night i woke up to see a large, impossibly tall, pitch black figure in my room. they were looking towords my window. i live alone. i immediatly lied back down for fear my eyes were not tricking me, and my heart raced until i was able to sleep again. what WAS it? please help.
