Possessed ornament

I was gifted or charged with a box that held a gorgeous Christmas tree inside. It was small enough to fit in my palm but large enough to have a detailed design and inscription. I knew it was off because I kept holding it and couldnt stop looking at it, so I asked my roommate to help me. She didn't exactly believe it was possessed but agreed. I put it in a box, and put that box in a bigger box. I trusted her to put the second box away, but when I turned around, i noticed she couldnt even close the box for looking at it. I rushed over and closed it and then she laughed in disbelief because I was right. Somehow, she ended up placing the ornament on the Christmas tree. My coworker was at the house and he explained the ornaments design. It held a story and recipe of sorts for christmas. All the basics, toys, candy canes, and a list of movies. There seemed to be nothing apparently evil about it, but the power it held was strong and compelling.
