Language learning and headscarves

I was in a foreign country with some friends and a teacher, just like how it was this summer in Morocco, (this time i think i was in India though or somewhere in Asia, not Africa this time). Anyway i kept thinking that my scarf around my head was to cover my nose/mouth so i wore it more like a bandana and other people kept giving me strange looks but i barely noticed it, until some guy that was teaching us words in the other language explained to me in the middle of the desert that the scarf belongs over my hair and that it’s supposed to cover my head, not my face. I felt really embarrassed and then he taught me some phrases in his language so i wouldn’t feel so dumb and then i asked him if he wanted to learn how to say things in English so we just taught each other our different languages for hours lying down in the middle of nowhere.
