Tony calls me. It’s hard to hear him. I have a guided meditation going in the background that I’m having trouble turning off. He’s mumbling too. We talk awhile, not hearing what the other is saying. Then he’s talking to his wife. He says, “Then why were there so many broken homes during the Civil War?” I can’t hear her side of the discussion. I say something about the war being a long way from where people lived, so infidelity and break-ups would happen. Then he’s admonishing one of his sons to thank someone (his other son?) for helping him every morning.
