Language I don’t speak

I think I was somewhere around the border of Argentina and Brazil because I was speaking English with two people that I don’t know in real life. I don’t remember what we were talking about but it what was something related to languages and understanding them. I distinctly remember them speaking in either Portuguese or Spanish but I think it was Portuguese even though I can’t speak either language but when they spoke to me I could CLEARLY understand what they were saying. However I couldn’t speak to them back in the same language. I responded in English. I can speak Swedish and have dreamt in Swedish before but I found it very strange that in this dream I was interacting with someone speaking a language I don’t understand in real life.
