I was in a futuristic looking laboratory and there was a scientist and his assistant in there. I was watching as they were doing an experiment. They had this tiny translucent worm in a petri dish it was just a vertebrate surrounded by a clear ectoplasm. They took the little worm and put it in an aquarium. The dream faded to the next scene and some amount of time had passed but I don't know how long. I was back in the lab and they had transfered the tadpole to a big aquarium installed in the wall. The tadpole had grown into a big flatfish and was swimming around with other fish around it. The dream faded again and more time had passed. I came back to the lab and the scientist was in a chair observing the fish, but this time it had grown into a manatee looking mammal, but with a longer tail end and little tiny human feet. At this point I figured out that they were trying to create a new species of human. The dream faded again and more time passes. I was back in the lab, but this time the scientists looked worried and confused. The aquarium was covered up with a black sheet and they were telling me that they were aborting the experiment and told me not to look behind the sheet. I wanted to see what the manatee creature had evolved into, so I ignored them and approached the aquarium. I pulled the sheet down and staring me in the face was an adult humanoid looking monstrosity. It had a face and upper body of a human but was gray and decayed looking like a zombie, it's lower body was that of a of a mermaid, but still had tiny human feet that were fused together. It was looking into my eyes with a cocky menacing scowl on it's face like it knew it was going to kill me when it gets strong enough to break out of the aquarium. It spoke with a growling voice, but I couldn't tell what it was saying through the glass. I was speechless and horrified.
