My friend Ash turned up with some presents for the kids. Well, I say presents... she rocked up with some strange leftover cakes (which were vegan) and had to be sprinkled with apple cider vinegar in order to make them edible. She then turned into a different friend, Robee, and rather than chatting, she seemed more interested in her iPad. She had brought her kids along and they were making an absolute mess of the place and I was getting anxiety. She then got up to get dressed (she was going on a date, apparently) and she wanted to show me the dress, only she didn’t put it on properly. She hung it over her head, showing off her breasts. My son maxi went red in the face and kept saying “oh no, oh no, oh no” whilst covering his face?in embarrassment. “He’s never seen boobs before!” I laughed. Next scene; I had gone to the local corner shop to purchase some cooking ingredients for my daughters food tech, but she was two steps ahead of me, already in the queue with her basket. There was hardly anything left on the shelves, anyway, and I remember feeling a sense of hopelessness. She doesn’t need me anymore. Next scene; I had moved to Dubai, and lived in the tallest apartment with glass flooring and walls. I was so lonely and never saw my husband. Each night, I would peer longingly out of the window, etching pictures (of trees) in the snow on the glass and searching over the horizons for him, whilst this really depressing music played in the background and I wept. Next scene: I was walking around a homeware store in a string vest... but to my horror, I realised that I didn’t have anything underneath said vest and my nipples kept poking out of the holes. All of a sudden, I wanted to make a run for it. Go home and protect what little modesty I had left.
