Visited former job

In my dream, I visited my former job, which was a family business. The father was clearly aged and walked slowly, but still insisted on running the business. I believed he continued coming to work to have an excuse to escape his wife’s nagging company at home. It appeared his 3 sons let him believe he was running the business, but made decisions behind his back. The other changes I’ve seen was one of the sons was nearly unrecognizable due to the massive amount of weight he lost. He was also someone different. And another son seemed to be with someone different than the one he had married when I left the company. The office seemed to expand and with the open space they had, they let a small school rent the extra space. The school was specifically for kids needing special education. I was pleasantly surprise that the son (who lost all that weight) was speaking (fluently) in sign language to the teachers and students. He was trying to get me to communicate that way, but it’s been too many years since I tried to learn ASL (American sign language). I appreciated his pushing, to give me some practice. The third kid in the family was not in my dream, or he was somewhere in the background, not seen or heard. While writing this down, I mentioned the third kid not in my dream (the middle child and shortest among the 3 kids in real life) was silent. Maybe because I overheard a conversation this weekend, where the middle kid was mentioned, and the comment was, “ you know how the middle kid acts.” Hmm…I’m the middle kid, so I’m not sure what she meant about that…and I am fairly quiet, while the middle kid of that family argues a lot, probably making up for his lot in life.
