I'm sitting by a lake, casting in my rod to see if I'll catch anything. The water is very still. Some small fish nip at the bait but nothing bites. Suddenly there's a strong tug. I feel like my rod is about to snap as I slowly pull in a large, speckled Koi fish. After showing my prize to my siblings I prepare the fish for a meal. My family is revolted by the idea of eating something from the lake but I'm delighted that something so fresh could be on the menu. The meat is a stunning red-orange, like a filet of wild salmon. I leave the carcass splayed open on the counter as I decide whether to eat it raw, eat it cooked, or just continue to stare at it.
