Zombie Apocolypse Simulation

I was with a group of about 5 friends and it was during a zombie apocalypse. We were at this small town with a factory nearby. There were a lot of people around who were not zombies, some of them were setting up a camp in this town but a lot of them (and I mean a lot) we're moving someplace else. I had split up with my friends for the meantime in order to scavenge supplies. The supplies were strange as they were actually icons for supplies, as if they were something from a videogame. When I touched them a 3D inventory screen that was a backpack opened up, and I could place the icons inside of the pack. I thought there was nothing out of the ordinary about this. I scavenged for awhile and found quite a few things. I also met another person who seemed to give off military vibes, I asked him what he was doing and he told me he was one of the people heading out of this town, I asked which direction, he said east, and that I should do the same. I agreed with him and headed back to meet with my friends. When I met them it turns out that I was the only person who has scavenged anything, my friends adamant that they wouldn't need supplies. I said they were idiots and that we should leave town. They didn't agree but I managed to covince them by saying east is where all the interesting shit is going down. It was at this point I understood this whole thing was actually a simulaton, a virtual reality post apocalyptic survival videogame. We started heading east. When we got there it seemed to be a totally different dream. I was no longer with my friends, but I was around some people I didn't know but they knew me. We were in the central Australian wilderness and about 1000+ people were all lines up (not in a singlefile line but spread out as if to see an event just ahead of us) the event was a wildfire. not a big one but a lot of isolated cases that were quite small. people were walking towards us through the wildfire, accidentally creating more wildfires as they got closer.
