Mystery Adventure

I was going around this giant building following/being followed by 2 kids - one boy, one girl - trying to find, discover, or solve something. Many doors, well lit, and tons of other people and humanoid creatures on the same mission. We seemed to know everyone, everyone was friendly. Lots of stairwells and hallways, doors led to more stairwells and hallways but not many rooms. Also elevators. Many of the humanoids were bird-people and spoke in their own language of chirps but we could understand them and they us. Some of the doors required keycard access but we could get past them without. One pathway led to my ex's house (but he was not present) while another led to a room/hallway that looked like a greenhouse. Something in the building was killing people - we stumbled across a group of the dead but only saw them from afar. No idea what it was, never reached a conclusion from what I remember.
