There were robots that were taking over the city.I was in the finished attic of my childhood home, looking out the window. Night was falling. Looking out the window, I wondered if I could see the glowing lights of the robots in the dark. I knew I didn't have too much time, a day at most, before the robots reached my house. I wanted to make the most of the time that I had left. Strangely, I decided I wanted to go outside and take a walk one last time. I was holding something that looked like a pair of scissors. It was a tool that was supposed to tell me what the safest place to go was. It said Houston Texas. Just as I about to start moving to leave the house, three robots came up the stairs. They were vaguely humanoid, bipedal with two arms, but no head. They had exposed wires and cables and an led display showing the name of their respective creators. I was trapped in the space next to a bed and the wall. All I had in my hands then was a pair of wired earbuds. I readied them in my hands like a garrote wire. I don't remember how, but I must have managed to defeat the robots, because the next scene I remember, I was stabbing the scissor-like tool into one of the robots, which was lying motionless on the ground. It was now day. I resolved to leave the house and the city and travel to Houston as the tool had suggested. At first, I began leaving with nothing, then thought better of it and returned to the attic where my backpack was. I put one of those nature's valley crunchy granola bar things in the backpack, as well as a water bottle. I was going to wear sandals, and put my running shoes in the backpack for some reason, but I decided instead that I'd wear the shoes and not bring the sandals at all. It was suddenly snowing heavily outside, the ground covered in a thick blanket of snow. Oddly, my dad and brother were also there now. He told me to bring a jacket, since it was cold outside.
