Very Serious Tabletop Gaming

I’m stuck on a small island entirely dedicated to an extreme, team-based, tabletop game competition. No one is allowed to leave until the competition is complete. Each team has a captain and five teammates to whom they delegate specific tasks. The game is like Risk/Battleship with a psychotic Candyland aesthetic and with actual explosions, but with bizarre fantasy/scifi characters like WoW or Warhammer 40k. Each team gets a separate large table with randomized topographic features (looks like Final Fantasy Tactics or Phantom Brave/Disgaea). The tables are two feet apart. The object is to reach the other team’s board and overtake their territory using any means available, sort of like a Tower Defense genre game.
