Me two of my roommates and a hometown friend decide to take our bikes to the mall. The ride was pretty straightforward we just went on a road that took us straight to the mall in 30 minutes. All while just chatting on the way. When we get to the mall we enter then go up to the second floor with our bikes we decide to put our bikes on a bike rack as they were literally a bike rack every ten steps in the mall. However we realized that we had no bike lock. After talking about the bike lock we looked at other bikes and saw none them really had bike locks so we just went to the nearest store while looking at them. We enter a dicks sporting goods and just look around a bit while also keeping watch on the bikes but they were fine. We then went to the next store where we looked at some of the products. My friend asked the price of a knife but it was 100 dollars so he just didn't want it. After about 5 minutes we leave the store head to the bike racks and our bikes are gone. We get mad as we were only gone for 5 minutes then i tell my friends to quickly look around the people that stole them might still be around. After looking and heading to the escalator I see a man and his son and guess what the man is holding my BIKE in some half bag that covers the wheels. I saw hey that's my bike while screaming it i see mall security next to the door and scream it at him. The mall security then says stuff like we are not responsible for any stolen goods and stuff like that. I sigh and just give up while heading back to my friends. I mention the person that stole my bike and they say couldn't the security just look at footage. I told them that it would be too much work taking down their names looking at footage and other things and my friends just agree. We start walking out the mall into the parking lot and enter my friends car where my other friend left their bike. But then i start thinking in my head how did we bring the car if we all biked here and how does he have his bike if they got stolen. But this just pretty much wakes me up.
