This dream was me watching a documentary on how The Goonies and Stand by Me were made. I remember a bunch of different scenes, and I was in a living room with my mom, Caitlyn, Zoe, and Maddy, but they were all falling asleep so I was basically watching alone. For The Goonies portion, it showed a scene where there was a mini roller coaster with the skeleton face in it and the camera on a cart going inside of it. Andi and Brand (off set) started trying to write Goonies fan fiction. Andi basically begged Brand to help her and dragged him into a room when they weren't needed for shooting. They sat on these really high chairs at the ceiling. The room looked like a log cabin, maybe a nicer version of the restaurant from the movie. The Stand by Me documentary portion was longer, and it transitioned into this by talking about how Corey Feldman did this movie alongside The Goonies. It showed Teddy, Gordie, Chris, and Vern (off set) all as very young kids running around a parking lot with a grocery cart. The narrator talked about how close they were as friends. They were all in their underwear except for River Phoenix (Chris Chambers). The narrator said River Phoenix was always seen as the more mature actor of the group and everyone said there was something special about him. It showed clips of him and pictures. It cut to an interview with River, who looked older, like he did in Running on Empty. The narrator explained that a man had stabbed his dog on set and River had just broken down hysterically. In the interview, River said he wanted to hurt the man and this scared him, so all he did was cry on the ground and wondered why it happened. He said no animal should be killed. River started talking kind of strangely in this interview. He put everything in short terms you could not understand and he would not explain. Instead of saying God, he just said He over and over again and the interviewer would ask who "He" was and River would just say He louder, as if He was too scary or great to say a name for. He was then interviewed in a cell with bars. A dog was on the outside. River put his fingers through the cage to pet it as he talked quietly and confusingly. The documentary then cut to the making of Stand by Me. I saw Gordie and Vern running down the train tracks as the director made loud train sounds and waved his arms wildly to get the kids to act more scared. It was like I was half awake when this dream was going on and it stopped very abruptly when I officially woke up. Like, I woke up, and knew a few seconds ago I was dreaming that.
