Dream: Theatre

Had a cool dream about being with my bff Anne, her gay cousin named Jean... who had become my friend, a girl named Ginger, and Ginger’s brother Louis who I had been crushing on apparently. The five of us were at the theatre we all had been working at. It was after hours and we were entertaining ourselves. Suddenly Anne speaks. “You all should hear my girl sing off stage.” She winked at me. “If it’s anything like her onstage singing then no thanks.” Louis remarked which just fired me up. “Jean, spin me a track please.” He just smiled and did so. I then began singing and dancing along to the music. Even had Ginger join in. The music slowly ended and I smiled as I saw Louis recollect his awestruck self. I walked up to him and got right in his face, “Best part about that song was I completely made it all up.” Louis looked at me wide-eyed and said, “Way better than your onstage performances.” I grinned and went to Jean. I kissed his cheek and hugged him. “You’re welcome darlin’ but my music can’t fix your stage fright.” Jean teased. Scene changed and I was heading into the prep room of the theatre for my group. It was a couple hours before the next show and I was headed to my little prep desk. I saw a little VHS tape and a note that were both from Jean. The note read: Hello Darlin’, -- I thought you’d like to see your performance from last night. -- Don’t believe anything my dear cousin Anne says, I’m not gay. -- You performed beautifully. Love, Jean I felt tears trickle down as he appeared behind me and wrapped me in a hug. I felt a kiss on my cheek and then awoke.
