Dangers of the Bronx

I was in the Bronx, NY when I noticed that I needed to get some deodorant because I was all out. Since Rite-Aid was closed at the late hour I was trying to get my deodorant at, I thought Food Lion might have some deodorant (I know they don't sell deodorant, this was my dream self thought). So as I was on my way some guy drives by in a car sticking his head out the window with a gun in his hand says hey get out of my territory. All of a sudden he starts shooting at me 3 times and one of the bullets happens to get me in my left foot. As I fall to the ground I try to explain that I was not trying to mess with them im just trying to find the Food Lion. Then a 14 or 15 year old boy hops out a sketching building and asks me the same question, "What are you doing in this part of town." He then looks at me, knowing that I'm terrified, and says, "I know you got money, give it over." My wallet just so happened to fall out of my back pocket when I fell to the ground so there was no way of me trying to say I didn't have my wallet. As in handing him all the money I have in my wallet, about $60, he looks at me and says, "Thats all you got?!" Again through all of this I try to explain to him that I was not trying to walk on their territory on purpose. He then takes my money and looks at my wound and says, "Get your *** out of here!" So then I get up and slowly wobble away from the scene. I distinctly remember me praying to God, saying thank you so much for being there with me. I could have easily been another person you see on TV that was killed from gang related violence. From there I remember stumbling back into musical practice and explaining to someone that I just got shot in the foot. As I said that I remember them pulling out their phone and calling campus safety for help. Then I thought it would be a good idea to examine my wound. Taking off my shoe and my sock I look at the wound and all it was was bruised. There was no blood or no puncture into the skin. Then someone mentioned this it was my shoes. For some reason the brand of shoes I was wearing is coated with a bulletproof material. All that was left was a bruise.... That's all I remember.
