Losing a family member

My cousin Laura died and my uncle (her father) was seemingly unfazed by this, at least at first. We went over to his house, asked him about her death, and he nonchalantly replied something like “I heard, that’s too bad”. Then I was at my house slicing up some food and saw him leaning against my stove. I got his attention and he said “I can’t stop hallucinating her [laura].” I touched him briefly, trying to console him.
