Abandoned town

So there's a video series shot by some guy that's a member of my school's staff. It tells the story of a town who recently just won a war and the members all stagger back injured but happy. Two different armies come back from two different streets, but everyone is glad that the war is finally over. However, suddenly, there's a warning from the other side of town about another army that's been sighted that's attacking. All the troops, who are already tired, begin to reluctantly shift into position for battle, while everyone else runs and finds somewhere to hide. One person in particular, the focus of this story, takes a mattress, stands it up, and crouches behind it. The battle goes on for a very long time. Just as they finally defeat one wave, and everyone celebrates, another wave is sighted and everyone has to go back to positions. Terror fills you as you wait, as your town has never been the site of a battleground. It's always been you attacking other enemies at their home town. Eventually, fatigue overcomes terror and you fall asleep. You wake on a plane with a sedative in your veins, being shipped off to somewhere. You look to your right and find a silver lining, at least your best friend is also here. Suddenly, the plane's cargo doors open, and you're dropped somewhere in the desert, into a ravine of sorts. At the end of the ravine, you find an entrance to some sort of building. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by someone who gives you 5 coins, which are actually yellow foam balls, and a drink. Thanking her, you continue along down the path. It leads to a town that looks abandoned, but also is like a mall of sorts. At the end, you find a carnival, where there's a merry go round that costs five coins. Your friend suggests that you two try it out, but you say that spending all their money probably wasn't a good idea. There's a few rings hanging down at another game, and throwing a rock into three at once yields a prize. You try, but can't do it with the free trial that you are given. Finally, you meet another person. She beckons you to follow her, and she leads the way to a cafeteria. She buys some food by putting some balls into slots, but since you don't have much, you take out your juice and sit down with her. Your friend, on the other hand, takes a huge meal of fries, steak, and cheesecake. At a table, you all start talking. As you converse, you notice people starting to trickle in. The town wasn't as abandoned as you thought. You discover that the person you meet is actually your friend's sister, and they start getting along very well. You laugh and eat and get to know her, along with some interesting stories about the people. Your friend's sister had agreed to stay out of this one couples sex life, but after hearing them talk about struggling, she wished that she could help them. One day, for some reason, you and your friend are killed by a bomb. You are allowed to go to a flashback 20 years later and visit the ghost town again. After exploring the town once more, you ask her whether anyone has come since the incident. She replies, "not a single person is here but myself." On the other side of town, a man sits in a glowing prison. He fiddles with his prisoner bracelet before thinking aloud to himself "today, this is what I'm going to think about. Which classical composer is the greatest?" As he talks, he inevitably begins plotting escape routes, when suddenly a dialogue box pops up telling him to do a routine maintenance check. He places his bracelet on a wall, and suddenly, it disappears. Overjoyed, he steals a guard's demon stick and runs out, using the stick to tap every laser barrier. He gets to a staircase down and runs, telling himself that he's finally free. However, the hallway leads right back to the prison he's in. The prison zooms out, and we find it's no more than a god's plaything. He messes with the hallways a bit and lets him out again, laughing at the false hope that will always lead to failure.
