Minnesota Partying

I was visiting Minnesota at Halloween. There may have been some camping or summer camp. At some point I was packing my bags to try to leave, but the stuff I was trying to pack kept increasing or unpacking itself. I was outside on Grand Avenue during the day, looking for coffee or food. I was frustrated by long lines and unfriendly-seeming places. All the businesses were new since I lived there. I had decided to go home when Nancy passed me on the sidewalk. She didn’t see me and walked by quickly. She was mad or frustrated about something and became increasingly so as she walked, slapping empty outside tables. I followed her. Not sure if I couldn’t catch up, or didn’t try. Got to the old triplex and passed an open first floor door in which a small child was sitting looking out. She seemed sad. I realized it was one of Nancy’s girls. I went to another entrance. I think I was staying there in Liz’s apartment. It was messy, but clean. It wasn’t a party, but there were a lot of people in the apartment, most of whom I knew. There were multiple events going on that night and people were deciding what to do, but were not including me. There were Halloween parties. There was some kind of high-end Macalester dinner. One of the events was at a bar which was very hard to access. You had to enter through a distant door and wind through other establishments to get in to it. I could see from the outside, that there WAS a door that went directly into that bar, but it was not in use. I dressed in a nice outfit, planning on going to the Macalester event. I put on a Halloween costume over the outfit, in case I went to a Halloween party. Someone wanted me to give them my costume, but the apron was handmade by my mom or grandma, and I wouldn’t give it away. I had latched on to a couple who may have been Kathy and Paul. They went out to check out some event while I got dressed. They came back with a little drawing of the above bar’s access route. We decided the bar was too difficult. We were too late to go to the Macalester event. I was feeling very flexible, since everyone but Paul and Kathy were not interested in letting me join them. I was having trouble with packing and getting dressed so Paul and Kathy went ahead to check out another bar/restaurant. They were going to come back and get me, but when I was finally ready, they hadn’t come back, so I went out to find them. I found them at the place we’d talked about. They’d decided to get a table and not come get me. I got there as they were being seated. There was another group leaving the table as we sat down. We were having trouble getting them to leave. They eventually did get up from the table, but after they’d left, I found they’d forgotten something. Someone from their party came back to get it. It was food and I kept spilling it when I tried to hand it to them. The place we were at seemed busy, but it was actually a slow night for them due to all the other events taking place around town. For some reason this place was passive in taking advantage of the holiday to bring in business. Instead the place, which was usually packed to the gills on a weekend evening, was just average busy. But for my party, it was a relief, and we weren’t complaining.
