1: I was showing my sister how to avoid getting killed by a nuke, assuming it was far enough away. I was basing my tactic on Barefoot Gin, based on the animator's life, in which he survived Hiroshima as a boy by stopping and bending over at the last second because he dropped something. The rock wall next to him had shielded him from the blast. Based on this I assumed that we should simply get underground, or on the other side of a wall that had land up to the top of it on the other side. We were going around town looking for examples of this as good places to go if there was a threat, but we couldn't decide which way the blast might come from. We considered building a fallout shelter, but we were worried there wouldn't be time. I saw something flying through the sky and my heart sank, but it turned out to be a smaller bomb, and far enough away to not affect us. 2: I was at the beach at night, on a small road that ran parallel to the ocean. I could see the beach and the ocean, apart from a few shrubs blocking my view. The moon was full and earlier there had been a solar eclipse. I kept seeing something that I'd heard about in myths about the night after a full-moon solar eclipse, and couldn't believe I was actually seeing it. Right in front of the moon, silhouetted by it, was a palm frond floating way up in the sky, just hovering right there in the light of the moon, and shifting in and out of it. I got out my camera and after several failed attempts was able to film the phenomenon. Every time there was an eclipse though, pranksters would go down on the beach and fly kites shaped like random objects to make it look like they were floating in the sky when they weren't. I saw them down there now, and saw the strings of their kites hinted at in the dark. I believed that what I was seeing was the real thing though, and wished very much that the pranksters would go away so I could prove it. 3: My parents had invited me to a formal or ball of some sort. I was still living with them and we had been in the process of moving. I had two dresses and pairs of shoes, and couldn't decide which to wear. One dress was sage green, with darker green shoes to match. Another was navy blue with dark silver shoes. I was already at the ball, and hoping everything I needed was in my very full and junky car. I was able to unearth the navy blue dress from layers of junk in the floor of the back seat. It still looked gorgeous and I put it on. Other attendees were around and could see me changing. I didn't have to get naked in front of them, but it was taking forever and I felt like maybe taking some of the magic out of it. I put on ugly socks which stayed on me forever while I looked for my shoes. I looked up and saw a young girl with very dark and very curly shoulder-length hair who looked amazing in her white dress with red and yellow designs on it. I wished I were as young as her, and wondered what it was like for her. While I was looking for a good lipstick and struggling because half my makeup was at the new house, my gay former best friend who my boyfriend hates showed up. My boyfriend had already turned down the invitation, and I actually felt glad that my old friend was here. He looked dapper and offered to be my date, and I accepted, hoping it would be like the good old times and not the bad ones. Later I woke up wishing I actually owned those dresses. They were gorgeous, and not colors I'd normally pick.
