kill the witch

*slightly graphic* I had been kidnapped by a woman who insisted she was my mother. She was quite psychotic—as she regularly tormented me and performed seances and dark rituals. Late at night, I was sneaking around her manor (trying to find a way to escape) when I heard her mumbling to herself. She detailed how she was going to kill me and use my heart and bones in her rituals. Strangely, I wasn't panicked. I was determined, actually, to find a way to kill her first and escape. I got to work immediately, devising a plan. I searched the house for things I could use. Up in the attic, I found a flare gun, a couple of candles, some chalk, and a book of black magic. Flipping through the book, I found a spell that could be used to get rid of her. I snuck out into the walled courtyard and drew a circle on the ground with the chalk, adding little symbols inside it. Then, I placed the candles around it in an alternating pattern: black candle, grey candle, white candle. According to the book, the last step was to light the candles with my enemy inside. Now all there was to do was bide my time until morning. The next day I lured my false mother into the kitchen. When her guard was down I ran at her, brandishing a butter knife for a weapon, and sliced her once across the arm. Enraged, she began to chase me through the house. I ran up winding stairs, barely avoiding her grasp the whole way. When I came to the attic, I smashed the window and climbed out onto the roof, making my way towards the courtyard. The witch bounded at me with her nails barred. Carefully, I waited until the last possible second, dodging her advance and sending her flying over the edge. With cat-like flexibility, she landed on her feet–right in the middle of my circle. I drew the flare gun from my pocket and fired directly at her, sending her up in a purple blaze.
