I had many vivid dreams after waking up walfway through the night and falling back to sleep. In one, I was at a party with old acquaintances from high school and was passed a bong or some other form of weed.. I took a large hit. Later in another dream I discovered a new room in my basement... Like a common game room with pool tables and other games. Then I was driving back to town with co-workers. Intuitively I knew we would crash as if I had been in that situation before. Indeed, the driver lost control. Everything went into slow motion with the car rolling/spinning in all directions, loud noises, and seperare impacts. Outloud I said the 'Jesus prayer' (lord jesus christ have mercy on me - I'm not actually Christian). There was one final impact and I knew this was probably the end. Next thing, I was in a new room with a few people. It was cartoonish in a way. The people were like avatars representing some of the people who were in the crash with me (and others) . They talked and interacted but something about them was illusory. I concluded that this was either death or purgatory and that it consisted of being in this more or less virtual world where I was to remain with these reflections of the people who had died with me. I talked with some of the figures and thought some might be reflections created by my mind of the real life people who were trying to save me in the hospital (doctors, nurses). That somehow, information of the real world was filtering through my consciousness to create this dream-like copy of what was going on. Still I got anxious at the thought that I would be stuck in this room with these figures for maybe eternity. Something inside me revolted against the idea and I 'snapped out'. I reintegrated my body only to realize that I was back in the party dream where I had taken a large hit of weed. I exclaimed "Wooooooaaaah..... Wtf how long was I out?" They looked puzzled and said "you just zoned out a little... It happens". I said "no but how long??" (this car accident and death trip felt like at least 15 min so I thought I'd passed out). They said "litterally seconds".
